Morocco’s Economy Continues to Grow Despite Adverse Conditions

Morocco’s economy showcased significant resilience and continues to grow, overcoming a number of challenges including the COVID-19-induced economic crisis, a new report from the World Trade Organization (WTO) says.

In the latest Trade Policy Review (TPR) report, the WTO argues that since the last TPR in 2015, Morocco’s GDP per capita has seen a notable increase from $3,236 to $3,570.

Despite a major 7.2% drop in 2020, attributed to the pandemic, the robust rebound in 2022 restored the Moroccan economy to pre-pandemic levels.

According to the report, Morocco’s international trade flourished, with the European Union maintaining its status as Morocco’s primary trading partner.
