Flying between Italy and Libya again after 10 years

With the ITA Airways flight from Rome to Tripoli, as of today Italy and Libya once again have a direct commercial air link after 10 years. This is the result of the agreement reached after the meeting held on 9 July between the President of ENAC, Pierluigi Di Palma, and the Minister of Communications and Political Affairs Walid Al Lafi, together with the President of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority (LyCAA).

On board the first flight was Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibeh, who was present yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the International Conference on Development and Migration, which was attended by Heads of State and Government and Foreign Ministers from the enlarged Mediterranean region, the leaders of the European Union and the main international financial institutions.
