Italy and Qatar, from (record) trade to geo-strategic relations

Relations between Rome and Doha have reached an unprecedented level of quantity and quality. Italy and Qatar are trade and geopolitical partners in the enlarged Mediterranean quadrant, which extends from the European and North African coasts of the Nostrum Sea to the Persian Gulf, the Sahel and the Horn of Africa.

Areas of both Italian and Qatari international projection, in an overlap that has often been synonymous with geo-strategic alignment, as emerged from Emir Tamin bin Hamad al Thani’s recent visit to Rome.
