MENA economies post strong recovery in H2 2021, to accelerate in 2022: World Bank

(Source Zawya) – Economic growth in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) strongly recovered in the second half of 2021 and is poised to step up in 2022, with the overall growth in the region will accelerate to 4.4% this year.

If on the one hand we witness to the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the output in some economies is back to pre-pandemic levels, on the other hand the COVID-19 remains a “major risk” for MENA economies, the World Bank said.

In addition, the economic performance across the region continues to be uneven due to the differences in the effects of the pandemic, the World Bank added.
