The Metro Rapid Transit System is a project of the Government of Kuwait which will allow the people to travel across Kuwait city on rails.
(Fonte:Urbantransportnews) The project aims to provide a mass rapid transport system, stretching over 160 kilometers with 68 stations. According to the Public Authority for Roads and Transport (PART) the plan has been divided in five phases. The first part includes a line connecting Kuwait City to Kuwait International Airport, 50 kilometers and 27 metro stations. 30% of the rail ways will be underground.
This Metro System will use less energy and will help to reduce the pollution generated mainly by cars traffic in Kuwait city.
