Oman is looking to benefit from the Italian experience in the field of fisheries, vying to attract Italian investments and increasing fish exports to Italy and the European Union
Source: Muscat Daily – An Omani delegation, currently visiting Italy, headed by H.E. Dr Hamad bin Said al Oufi, Undersecretary for Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, met the president of the Italian Fish Companies Association on Tuesday. The meeting, attended by H.E. Dr Ahmed Ba Omar, Oman’s Ambassador to Italy, discussed the cooperation programme and laid down a practical programme for follow-up and implementation to benefit from Italian expertise. During the visit, a workshop was held between the Omani and Italian manufacturers titled, ‘Omani-Italian Partnership in Fish Industries: Investment Opportunities’, to benefit from the Italian experience in the field of fishing, value-added industries, attracting Italian investments and increasing the exports of Omani fish to Italy in particular and the European Union in general
