The Arab Lawyers Forum gathers senior lawyers in private practice from across the 22 Arab League countries to share insights on the various challenges facing the legal community accross jurisdictions
The Forum was first held in Morocco in 2016 and, following its success, subsequently in Egypt and Bahrain in 2017 and 2018 respectively. In response to consistently excellent feedback and a prevalent demand for greater international engagement, the 4th Arab Lawyers Forum will be held on 5th-6th October 2018 alongside the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference in Rome, and will be open to all Arab lawyers in Private Practice and General Counsel positions from across the globe. The core purpose of the IBA is to enhance Arab lawyers’ opportunity to mingle with their peers from other jurisdictions and to facilitate greater exposure. Delegates will then have the opportunity to stay and mingle with their peers at the IBA Annual Conference, which will take place on 7th – 12th October also in Rome, and to reconvene for a session exclusively focused on issues and perspectives from the Arab world. By expanding its demographic and capitalising on the activity surrounding one of the largest legal gatherings of the annual calendar, the forum will be elevated to providing a prestigious global platform for the Arab legal community to engage and contribute on the international stage. These conversations will provide key opportunities for Arab lawyers to build collective momentum for the Arab world and to bring itself in line with international standards
